I wrote my first novel when I was in 5th grade. Yep. I was a really cool kid. I’m pretty sure I wrote all 200 pages longhand (in pencil). I had one of those brightly colored trapper keepers with a picture of a baby seal or dolphin or something. The “novel” (if you will) was called “Faith in Green Eyes” and it was about a popular girl with cancer. I knew nothing about the topics.
Needless to say, it was terrible.
My father & my friend Laney read the entire thing. Nobody else has read it (including me).
I wrote several novels after this (and after the spectacular inventions of affordable computers & typing classes!)
None of these novels will ever (nor should ever) be published.
So, until I write my famous novel, I am writing a blog.
Plus, having a grandiose goal (such as “write a novel”) simply encourages (me, at least) to procrastinate, give up, & not write at all. This is not ideal.
There may be nobody else who wants to read my writing (although my dad & my friend Laney are still very nice people & will easily be convinced).
This is a mixture of old writing (past 10 years) and newer writing (2014).
